On the Same Page
By S.M.A. Faiz*
Busy they are and everywhere
And everywhere they are flying high
Also they are flying with flair;
Yes oh yes not I.
But my mind is put quite at ease
That I feel each and every day
And every night I sleep in peace;
Why oh why can't they?
They are young oh yes I'm old
But once I was at their age
And they were never in my mould
And never they were sage.
Oh yes they would be at my age
In the not-too-distant future
Where a wonder lasts but nine days
As per the course of nature.
But this world right now
Needs them oh yes also me
And now to make an earnest vow
For a new world where they would be;
And so hand in hand on the stage
Right now I'd love to be with them on the same page.
